How to beat Chronic Inflammation!

Inflammation can simmer away undetected at a low-grade level and become chronic. There are a number of scenarios in which this can happen. Sometimes infection is prompted by a pathogen such as bacteria, virus or fungus and the immune system finds it difficult to eradicate so the inflammatory response is prolonged. On other occasions, toxins such as lead, mercury or aluminium which are not eliminated cause chronic inflammation and are increasingly linked to neurodegenerative diseases.

Some people say the immune system can attack itself and cause “autoimmune” conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and Lupus however the reasons are not fully understood. One theory is production of auto-antibodies; that is, antibodies against the host body. Not everyone with auto-antibodies goes on to develop disease. The theories remain speculative. Genes likely play a role; immune conditions such as multiple sclerosis, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis run in families.
